Steve Wymer is a distinguished leader with a robust background in communications and community service. Elected President of the US Senate Press Secretaries Association in 2010, Steve demonstrated his ability to lead in bipartisan environments during his tenure as a spokesperson and Communications Director in the Senate. In 2011, Steve transitioned to Silicon Valley, where he led corporate communications at TiVo. IN 2016, Steve joined Nextdoor.com, leading communications and policy, before joining eBay in 2019 as chief communications officer and chair of the eBay Foundation. Steve's dedication to enhancing San Jose’s urban landscape is evident from his leadership roles with Team San Jose, where he chaired the Finance Committee and supported the McEnery Convention Center and historic theaters. His commitment to the local community is further highlighted by his service on the Board of Directors for “Work2Future” and his recent efforts to introduce a major annual three-on-three basketball tournament to downtown San Jose to benefit Silicon Valley community organizations. An alumnus of Washington State University, where he notably served three terms as student body president, Steve has continued to support his alma mater as a WSU Foundation Trustee and Board Member of Paul G. Allen’s Pullman Properties. Residing in San Jose with his wife Michele and their four children, Steve is actively involved in local organizations, including the Special Olympics of Northern California.
